What 1040kit is
1040kit is free software that helps you prepare your own federal income tax return with an AI assistant. 1040kit is free to use. We may change, pause, or stop the service at any time.
Not tax advice
1040kit does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. Information on this website and in the software is general information, not advice for your situation. If you need advice, talk to a qualified tax professional.
You are responsible for your return
You prepare, review, sign, and file your own return. Before you file, check that the information is complete and correct. You are responsible for what you file with the IRS and for any taxes, interest, or penalties you owe.
Not affiliated with the IRS
1040kit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Internal Revenue Service or any other government agency. "IRS Free File Fillable Forms" is a service of the IRS.
No warranty
1040kit is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be error-free, that it supports your tax situation, or that it will produce a particular refund or result.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, 1040kit and the people who build it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any taxes, interest, penalties, or losses that result from using or being unable to use 1040kit.
Acceptable use
Do not use 1040kit to file a false or fraudulent return, to prepare returns for other people for pay, or to interfere with the website or other people's use of it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use 1040kit after a change means you accept the updated terms.
